What's Going on in China!

Do I dare ask what is a wet market?  That was my text response to a friends question of "Do you want to do with me to the wet marketing this week?"  So I went to find out.

Mostly it is a fruit and vegetable marketing that has lots of vendors with really good, fresh produce.  In addition, there are stalls that have drunken or marinated meats, fresh made pastas and wonton wrappers, tofu, meats, and random clothing and bag sellers.  There was also a stall where you select your own chicken, they will kill it and pluck it for you so you know its fresh!  Here are a few of the photos from the wet market.  Between my friend and I we walked away with peaches, cherries, pumpkin, watermelon, wonton wrappers (which she made delicious pumpkin ravioli out of), pork...and Blake was so "lovely" he was given a box of candy for a nice Chinese couple that sold the watermelon and continued to ask my friend in Chinese if we were Americans or Russians?  LOL

Throwing in some additional pictures for good measure. I was taking photos of the cleaning products so I could tell our Ayi (housekeeper) what to use around the house.  She is now coming 6 days a week 3 hours per day and its very hard to get used to.  Once the baby items went into the nursery she realized i was expecting and now doesn't want me to even bend over so I try to do things when she is in the other room...haha.

Some photos from around our neighborhood.  They make their own brooms here with leaves and branches, you will find these often around town.  In the bottom left is a pastry they seem to have at every bakery i go into, but I haven't tried one, looks like a hot dog in a bun.   The other photos are just the streets nearby with little shops below the apartments.  There is a dog groomers too that seems to offer Wi-fi and coffee :)

Ending the week on a fun note, we celebrated our Father's Day Saturday while Brian was home from work.  Blake gave him a new D-backs jersey so they were matching yesterday when we went to Blake's school for their summer festival.  Then Sunday I made a yummy breakfast and Brian went to work, off early and playing his first 9 holes of golf in Changzhou today!  Having a yummy dinner as well!  Blake does have the best daddy for him, but I have to wish my daddy a Happy Father's Day too, he has been there for me for 30+ years now everyday of my life and I couldn't be more grateful to have him in my life, love you dad!  Hope you all enjoy your Father's Day!

Tomorrow I have another adventure with the bank so stay tuned for more posting!
