We have a new HOME!

So we finally moved into our apartment last Sunday!!!  It has been a busy week getting settled in the apartment, learning the area a bit and deciding what we need to buy to live in our new apartment!  For many of you, a move isn't too bad, you pack everything up and take it with you to the new home and then unpack over some time.  For us, we packed everything in AZ up and put it into storage, shipped a container that will be here in a few weeks (it took a slow boat to China, literally!) with Blake's stuff and things for the new baby, some clothes still for Brian and I, but mostly everything we have was packed into 4 large suitcases and brought over on the plane with us.  Needless to say we have nothing for the kitchen, no food in the pantry, no basic items for the house such as cleaning supplies, laundry items, and baggies!  Over the past few days Blake and I have made some trips to three different store to go in search of the necessities, and a few other things!  I am finding every time i get home i need more stuff!   Next on the list, a toaster, measuring cups and spoons, hangers to dry the clothes (we only have a washing machine).  Its amazing to me how many little things we need to buy.

Below are some photos of the apartment, its approx. 1900 sqft on the 27th floor of a building that doesn't have a 3, 4, 13, 14 th floors because these numbers are unlucky.  We have three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a terrace that goes around the whole apartment and has lots of windows, a kitchen, and the washing machine is on the terrace.  We take out shoes off before entering and leave them in a shoe cabinet outside in the hallway.  We take our trash to the stairwell and there is someone that picks it up for us.  There is a garden to walk around and a play area for Blake, he has already made some little friends!

Blake's bedroom and the Master bedroom.
Closet, Baby's room, Blake's play area (waiting on more toys to arrive), and the view!
The living room, dining room, and kitchen!

So why is there no bedding on the master bed?  In China apparently it is considered "healthy" to sleep on a hard mattress, we are talking sleeping on the hard floor type mattress not what we American's call a hard mattress.  So since this week had been so busy we went mattress shopping last night after some awful nights of sleep/no sleep for us, and tonight we will have our new softer mattress delivered!  Yay!!!

Moving in has been fun, we are looking to get the place cleaned up and have all of our items from our container delivered by the end of the month to complete our home.  Its a little weird to not have our family photos on the wall and the have furniture that someone else picked out, but we are happy to be in our new home and looking forward to the new memories we will make here!
