Our Anniversary

So this is the first Blog I have created.  I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the Blogs of many of my friends and find it to be a great way to get into someone's head by way of their thoughts.

Recently Brian and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary.  It is amazing to think that 2 years have gone by so quickly and all that has happened in our lives and those of our friends and family since then.  There have been weddings, babies, parties, dinners, good conversations, travels and all that falls in between.  Oddly enough we wanted to escape it all and spend some quality time together so we booked it out of town!

Heading to Tucson, AZ, I know many of you would not travel there for a romantic weekend with your spouse but I have to say the Ritz Carlton was Amazing!  We had such wonderful service, beautiful backdrop of the hotel and wonderful desert around us just outside of town.  I have to recommend the CORE Kitchen in the hotel that had delicious food, Brian had the buffalo while I stuck to the fillet and both were tasty. For dessert, you have to try the mesquite waffle....it had a flavor i could never remake.

Brian took me to one of his favorite spots for lunch, Beyond Bread and it was enjoyable.  In addition, I had a personalized tour of the UofA campus (even though he couldn't tell me where the business building was) and we even stumbled upon the red vs. blue basketball game that we sat in for the last few minutes...and what do you know...UofA won!  While on campus I also managed to get me an Eegee...a necessity to my trips to Tucson.

While the food was delish we had to check out the desert around us too! The amount of hiking trails near the property was wonderful and we took to it like we knew what we were doing and hopped on a trail.  Good thing we took water because it was HOT!  But we enjoyed the trail and made it back to the golf course  so we could have the shuttle pick up and drive us back to the hotel after 3 miles :)

All in all getting away from the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives is sometimes just what we need to relax(turn off the cell phones) and enjoy our time together.

Cheers to 2 years...only 80 more to go!

Lindsay~
