I spared you all by not taking photos, but why do Chinese woman wear such short dresses and skirts, and then also wear panty hose that you can see the very top darker rind around your thigh as they walk around. I can't decide if China has fashion or not. Out and about you will see woman as described above, or even better they wear the pantyhose with such short shorts, then a very long top so it appears they don't even have shorts on....strange. There are people walking around in pajamas, wearing flower shirts with stripped pants. Such interesting choices they make each day here. Most of the pregnant women I see are in dresses that are too tight their belly is very visible but its clearly not a maternity dress. Other do wear maternity styles more from the 80's such as very over sized shirts and dresses.
The next item of interest is the man purse, or sachel as I believe it was referred to in the Hangover. I found two men yesterday i could take photos of with theirs. One of our drivers even carries a Coach purse, i am certain it is a knockoff as most items are here but i still find it entertaining. No guys i know have any interest in carrying a sachel, they throw their keys, phone and wallet in their wife, girlfriend or whomever they are with that has a purse when needed.
After my doctors appointment I walked to a nearby location and got some lunch. They have Papa John's Pizza in China. Living in AZ I am not sure the last time I ate Papa John's in college it was all Domino's as a resident assistance because they took our P.O.s and we had a Barro's and Streets of New York close by. The menu is different than at home as this is a sit down restaurant offering pick up. I was able to order a cheese pizza, yum! and some spicy American chicken wings which were nothing like at home. The menu consists of soups with seafood, pastas, smoothies, and pizza. All ingredients including the water for the dough are brought in from the USA. It was great for a pregnant lady wanting pizza and cheese!!!
Finally I went back to my local nail shop for a manicure and foot manicure as they call it. Snapped a few photos of the shop in case anyone was interested. What you can't see is the three over sized chairs and ottomans that i was sitting in one of while getting my fingers and toes painted. The girls there are very friendly and use their phone dictionaries to try and communicate with me. They always offer me a cup of warm water, and since i am pregnant they wouldn't soak off my gel nails in acetone but removed them with tools :) They offer CND and OPI just like at home, but no massage chairs and the foot manicure seems to be a bit odd to them!
Blake joined in the fun our new friend has on his porch, a swimming pool! Well its a kiddie pool, but they loved it. The boys are one month apart in age so its a great play date! On Sunday we also had gymnastics class for Blake and he had lots of fun. Just wanting to share a few photos!
